Transaction Processing:
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and cash register to process sales transactions (cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and other digital payments).
Scan goods, ensure pricing accuracy, and honor coupons or redeem stamps.
Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
Process returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately according to company policy.
Cash Handling & Accuracy:
Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure all amounts are correct (balancing the till).
Maintain accurate transaction records and report any discrepancies to management immediately.
Follow all security and anti-theft procedures.
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly upon entry or approach to the checkout area.
Answer customer questions about products, services, store policies, or promotions.
Resolve customer complaints or guide them to a manager for assistance, maintaining a patient and professional demeanor.
Bag, box, or wrap purchases carefully as requested.
