Roles and Responsibilities of a Carpenter

1. Measure and Plan Work

   • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements

2. Cut and Shape Materials

   • Cut, shape, and smooth wood, plywood, and other materials using hand and power tools

   • Ensure precision and quality in all cuts and fittings

3. Install Structures and Fixtures

   • Build and install doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, and frameworks

   • Fix wooden structures such as partitions, shelves, and panels

4. Repair and Maintenance

   • Repair damaged furniture, fixtures, and wooden structures

   • Replace broken parts and ensure durability

5. Use Tools and Equipment Safely

   • Operate tools like saws, drills, hammers, and measuring devices safely

   • Follow safety guidelines and maintain tools properly

6. Material Handling

   • Select appropriate wood and materials based on project needs

   • Check quality and ensure minimal wastage

7. Polishing and Finishing

   • Apply varnish, polish, laminates, or paint for final finishing

   • Ensure smooth and neat appearance

8. Follow Safety Standards

   • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
