Job Description Purchase Executive (Senior/Junior)

Job Summary

The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, machinery, and services required for production and projects. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at optimum cost while maintaining vendor relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop reliable vendors for raw materials, components, and services.

• Float RFQs, compare quotations, and prepare comparative statements.

• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts.

• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.

• Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Stores for material requirements.

• Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.

• Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.

• Coordinate with Quality team for inspections and approvals.

• Monitor purchase costs and work on cost reduction initiatives.

• Maintain procurement records, vendor data, and documentation.

• Evaluate vendor performance on quality, cost, and delivery.

• Ensure compliance with GST, company SOPs, and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle / ERPNext)

• Good analytical and documentation skills
