Key Responsibilities
Jewellery Inspection
Check jewellery pieces for manufacturing defects, scratches, dents, cracks, porosity and finishing issues.
Verify the jewellery against approved designs, samples and specifications.
Check proper finishing, polishing and overall appearance.
Weight & Measurement Checking
Verify gross weight, net weight and stone weight as applicable.
Check dimensions, size, thickness and other specifications using appropriate measuring instruments.
Identify any mismatch between system details and physical jewellery.
Stone & Setting Checking
Check stone presence, count, size, shape, colour and quality as per specifications.
Inspect stone setting, prong/claw security and alignment.
Identify loose, missing, damaged or improperly set stones.
Workmanship & Finishing
Check soldering, joints, hooks, clasps, locks and other components.
Ensure proper polishing, buffing and surface finishing.
Identify manufacturing and craftsmanship defects.
Hallmark & Identification
Verify hallmark, purity marking, product code, SKU/tag and other required identification.
Ensure tags and jewellery details match correctly.
Documentation & Reporting
Record rejected, defective and rework pieces.
Maintain checking/QC reports and rejection records.
Inform the concerned department/supervisor about quality issues.
Coordination
Coordinate with Production, CAD/Design, Polishing, Setting, Stores and Quality teams.
Send defective pieces for necessary correction or rework.
Recheck corrected jewellery before approval.
