Job Title: Logistics Manager

Company Overview
A well-established Paper Trading Company engaged in the procurement, distribution, and supply of various paper products across India is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and manage transportation operations from Mumbai to multiple destinations nationwide. The role requires strong expertise in transportation management, vendor coordination and customer service to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

Location – Umerkhadi, Mumbai - 400009 

Position Summary
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the end-to-end transportation and logistics operations for dispatches from Mumbai to customers and distributors across India. The role involves transporter management, rate negotiations, shipment tracking, vendor coordination and customer communication to ensure seamless movement of goods while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Transportation Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily transportation operations for dispatches from Mumbai to various destinations across India.

• Ensure timely pickup, transit, and delivery of paper consignments through transporters and logistics partners.

• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delivery delays or operational issues.

• Coordinate with warehouses, suppliers, customers, and transporters to ensure smooth dispatch and delivery schedules.

• Maintain transportation records, shipment documentation, and delivery confirmations.

Vendor & Transporter Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with transporters, and logistics service providers.

• Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts to achieve cost-effective logistics solutions.

• Evaluate transporter performance and ensure service levels are consistently maintained.

• Resolve issues related to transportation delays, damages, shortages, or customer complaints.

Customer Service 

• Provide regular status updates and proactively communicate any delays or issues.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, transporters, and distribution partners.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service and problem resolution.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and maintain logistics reports covering delivery performance, freight costs, transporter efficiency, and operational KPIs.

• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.

• Monitor market freight trends and recommend suitable logistics strategies.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably in paper, packaging, FMCG, trading, or distribution industries.

• Strong knowledge of road transportation, freight management, and supply chain operations.

• Proven experience in transporter management and freight rate negotiations.

• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple shipments and stakeholders simultaneously.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and logistics management tools.
