We are looking for a AutoCAD Designer to join our team at Kshivo Industries to design and execute functional, aesthetic and budget-friendly spaces. The role involves planning layouts, selecting materials, overseeing construction work and coordinating with vendors and clients. The position offers an in-hand salary of ₹15,000 - ₹30,000 and opportunities to work on creative design projects.
Key Responsibilities:
3D Modeling & Assembly: Develop precise 3D CAD models of parts, components, and complex assemblies using SolidWorks.
2D Drafting & Detailing: Convert 3D models into production-ready 2D engineering drawings with accurate dimensions, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and clear annotations.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Optimize designs for specific manufacturing methods, such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining (CNC), or casting.
BOM Management: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifying part numbers, quantities, and material specifications.
Design Validation: Perform interference checks, tolerance stack-up analysis, and basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) / stress testing within SolidWorks to ensure structural integrity.
Collaboration & Revision: Work closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and product managers to refine designs, troubleshoot production issues, and process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Job Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this role is Diploma and 0 - 4 years of experience. Applicants must be proficient in tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp or 3Ds Max and have a strong knowledge of design, detailing and stone/marble.
Technical Skills
Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (both 2D drafting and 3D modeling environments). Experience with AutoCAD is often a plus for legacy 2D data.
Engineering Standards: Strong understanding of industry drafting standards (such as ASME Y14.5 or ISO standards) and GD&T.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with raw materials (metals, plastics) and how design decisions impact fabrication costs and complexity.
Data Management: Experience using SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) or similar PLM systems to control file versions.
