The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role acts as a key contributor to financial strategy, provides guidance to junior accounting staff, and ensures compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and financial data.
Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities.
Reconcile accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets functions.
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with GAAP/IFRS.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation.
Monitor compliance with tax rules; assist with tax filings as needed.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve financial reporting.
Implement best practices in accounting operations.
Participate in system improvements or ERP implementations.
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior accountants.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, HR, and Operations.
Communicate financial information clearly to management.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.
May work in corporate, public, or hybrid/remote settings.
Occasional overtime during peak periods (month/year-end close).
