SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

•             Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and projections.

•             General Ledger & Reconciliations:

Manage and maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

•             Budgeting & Forecasting:

Assist with the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.

•             Audits & Tax:

Coordinate with external auditors, support tax audits and preparations, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

•             Internal Controls:

Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.

•             Accounts Management:

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other daily accounting transactions.

•             Mentorship & Supervision:

Guide, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff.

•             Process Improvement:

Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to increase efficiency.

Key Skills & Qualifications

•             Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tally or a related field.

•             Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, and hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).

•             Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to manage complex financial data accurately.

•             Accounting Knowledge:

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

•             Soft Skills:

Excellent communication skills, leadership potential, and the ability to work collaboratively with management.

Experience

•             Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role or as an accounting supervisor.

•             Experience with general ledger functions, month-end, and year-end close processes.
