Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 1–2 years of experience to support our finance and accounting operations in a construction environment. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, job cost tracking, vendor payments, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations

• Assist in job cost accounting and tracking project expenses against budgets

• Process vendor invoices, subcontractor bills, and payment schedules

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Prepare bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations

• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities

• Track fixed assets, equipment costs, and depreciation

• Help prepare basic financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cost reports)

• Ensure compliance with tax, GST/VAT, and statutory requirements (as applicable)

• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams

• Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal controls

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 1–2 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred)

• Basic understanding of construction accounting concepts (job costing, WIP, retention)

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar)

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with subcontractors and progress billing

• Knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting

• Exposure to audits and statutory compliance

• Good communication and teamwork skills
