Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to manage costing, budgeting, and financial analysis for our packaging operations. The role involves monitoring production costs, improving cost efficiency, and supporting management with accurate financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Costing & Analysis:

• Prepare product-wise costing (raw materials, labor, overheads)

• Analyze cost variances and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Monitor standard vs actual costs and report deviations

Inventory & Production Costing:

• Coordinate with production and stores for inventory valuation

• Track material consumption and wastage

• Maintain accurate costing of finished goods and work-in-progress (WIP)

Budgeting & Planning:

• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts

• Monitor expenses against budgets

• Support cost control and financial planning initiatives

MIS & Reporting:

• Prepare cost sheets, profitability analysis, and MIS reports

• Provide insights on margins, pricing, and cost optimization

• Share daily/weekly/monthly reports with management

Compliance & Coordination:

• Maintain proper cost records and documentation

• Support audits with required cost data

• Coordinate with accounts, production, and management teams

Key Requirements:

• B.Com / M.Com / CMA (Inter preferred)

• 1–5 years of experience in cost accounting (manufacturing/packaging preferred)

• Strong knowledge of costing methods and inventory control

• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
