Job Summary
An Account Assistant supports the accounting department by performing basic
accounting tasks,
maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with daily financial
operations.
The role requires attention to detail, good numerical skills, and knowledge of accounting
principles.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records, invoices, and receipts.
Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries.
Record daily transactions in accounting software or ledgers.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Assist in bank reconciliation and verifying financial data.
Prepare and process purchase orders, bills, and payments.
Support the accountant in GST, tax filings, and audits.
Maintain organized filing of financial documents.
Handle petty cash management and expense tracking.
Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding payments.
Required Skills
Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Excel).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (e.g., B.Com).
1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance (preferred).
Basic knowledge of GST and taxation (for India-based roles).
