Job Title: Audit and Accounts Staff
Job Summary:
The Audit and Accounts Staff is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in financial reporting. The role requires hands-on experience across various accounting functions and a strong understanding of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Functions:
Maintain day-to-day financial transactions (journal entries, ledgers, vouchers).
Handle accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare bank reconciliations and cash flow statements.
Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
2. Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Analyze financial data and report variances.
3. Audit Responsibilities:
Assist in internal and external audits.
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
Identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions.
4. Taxation & Compliance:
Handle GST, TDS, VAT, or other applicable tax filings.
Ensure timely filing of returns and statutory compliance.
Maintain records for regulatory authorities.
5. Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.
Ensure all accounting records are updated and easily accessible.
6. Coordination:
Coordinate with auditors, banks, and internal departments.
Support management with financial information and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks).
Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Experience Requirements:
1–5+ years of experience in accounting and auditing.
Experience in handling complete accounts (end-to-end accounting).
Exposure to taxation, compliance, and audit processes.
Experience in different industries is an added advantage.
