The Account Auditor is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all financial and inventory-related transactions within the jewellery showroom. This role is critical due to the high-value nature of gold, diamonds, and precious stones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Auditing
• Verify daily sales, purchase entries, and cash/bank transactions
• Reconcile accounts (cash, bank, debtors, creditors)
• Review GST invoices and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Check billing accuracy and detect discrepancies or fraud
2. Inventory Audit (Critical in Jewellery Industry)
• Conduct regular physical stock audits of gold, diamond, and silver items
• Match physical stock with system records (ERP/software)
• Monitor wastage, shrinkage, and stock movement
• Verify tagging, weight, and purity details
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to internal audit processes and SOPs
• Identify control gaps and suggest improvements
• Monitor adherence to pricing, discount, and approval policies
• Ensure compliance with BIS hallmarking and legal standards
4. Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations
• Maintain proper documentation for audit trails
• Identify suspicious transactions or unusual stock movement
• Conduct surprise audits
• Investigate financial inconsistencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) / Accounting / Finance
Experience
• 2–5 years in accounting/auditing
• Experience in jewelry retail, luxury retail, or high-value inventory preferred
Key Skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Experience with Tally / ERP systems
• Understanding of GST and tax compliance
Preferred Industry Knowledge
• Gold & diamond valuation basics
• Jewelry billing systems
• Understanding of making charges, wastage, and karat calculations
Salary Range (Mumbai Market)
• ₹3 LPA – ₹7 LPA (depending on experience and brand)
