Security Supervisor

A Security Supervisor's job involves leading and managing security personnel and operations to ensure the safety of people, property, and assets. Key duties include supervising staff, enforcing security protocols, managing and maintaining surveillance equipment, and responding to incidents and emergencies. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a team, handle high-pressure situations, and coordinate with authorities when necessary. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management:

  Assigning duties, scheduling shifts, training, and evaluating the performance of security guards. 

• Operations Oversight:

  Monitoring security systems, ensuring equipment is operational, and patrolling assigned areas to identify hazards. 

• Incident Response:

  Leading the team during emergencies, coordinating with internal and external agencies (like police and fire services), and documenting incidents. 

• Policy Enforcement:

  Ensuring security protocols, company policies, and safety regulations are followed to prevent risks and maintain a secure environment. 

• Reporting and Documentation:

  Preparing reports on security-related activities and incidents for management. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Leadership & Communication:

  The ability to guide and motivate a team, and to clearly communicate information to both subordinates and superiors. 

• Problem-Solving:

  Devising effective solutions for security issues and making critical decisions under pressure. 

• Technical Proficiency:

  Familiarity with security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. 

• Physical & Mental Fitness:

  Capable of performing physical duties and maintaining alertness, especially during emergencies. 

• Experience:

  Previous experience in security, ideally with some leadership or supervisory responsibilities, is often required. 

Work Environment:

• Security Supervisors often work on a flexible schedule, which may include days, nights, and weekends, depending on the needs of the organization. 

• The role involves a mix of field duties, such as patrols, and administrative tasks, like report writing.
