Security Guard

A Security Guard is responsible for protecting an organization’s property, employees, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment. The role involves monitoring premises, preventing theft or vandalism, and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety.

• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.

• Control access to buildings by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.

• Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents.

• Report suspicious activities, security breaches, or safety hazards.

• Write detailed incident and daily activity reports.

• Assist employees and visitors as needed.

• Enforce company policies and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid security guard license (if required by local law).

• Good observation and communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm in emergencies.

• Basic knowledge of security procedures and public safety.

• Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• May work indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• May be required to handle stressful or dangerous situations.
