Job Description: Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator
Position Overview:
The SOC Operator is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of personnel,
property, and information by monitoring and managing security systems, responding
to incidents, and executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role
includes hardware troubleshooting, CCTV monitoring, and access control system
management. The SOC Operator must ensure efficient surveillance, incident
response, and system operation across all monitored sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and Surveillance:
o Operate and monitor CCTV systems, access control systems, intrusion
detection systems, and other security-related technologies.
o Analyse live feeds to identify and respond to potential threats or
breaches.
2. Incident Response:
o React promptly to alarms or incidents, assess the situation, and take
appropriate action.
o Coordinate with on-site security personnel, emergency responders,
and management teams as per established protocols.
o Prepare daily, periodic, and ad hoc reports, including detailed incident
logs and analyses.
3. Access Control Management:
o Grant or deny access to secure areas, ensuring adherence to access
policies.
o Handle visitor management, verify credentials, and manage temporary
access permissions.
4. Alarm Handling:
o Investigate and address security system alarms, escalating issues as
needed.
o Maintain detailed records of alarm incidents for further investigation.
5. Technical Issue Resolution:
o Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and system issues,
including CCTV cameras, access control devices, and computer
peripherals.
o Notify technical teams for advanced repairs and document outages or
technical faults in system logs.
o Prepare daily, periodic, and ad hoc reports, including detailed incident
logs and analyses.
Essential Requirements:
Experience:
o Min 2 yrs of experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or similar
role is essential.
o Proven expertise in monitoring and operating video surveillance and
access control systems, such as Lenel OnGuard, C-Cure 9000, Avigilon,
or ExacqVision.
o Background in hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, including
computers and peripherals.
o Familiarity with repair and troubleshooting of CCTV cameras, monitors.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report preparation and analysis.
Qualifications:
Graduation/ Diploma/Certifications in security system operations.
