Job Description: Travel Consultant (Galileo)

A Travel Consultant with Galileo expertise books and manages travel itineraries for clients. They need to understand and use the Galileo GDS (Global Distribution System) to reserve flights, hotels, and rental cars.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Management: Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget.

• Booking & Reservations: Use the Galileo GDS to book flights, accommodations, and ground transportation. This includes ticketing, reissuing tickets, and managing complex itineraries.

• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries, changes, and cancellations efficiently.

• Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel products, including airline routes, hotel chains, and tour packages.

• Documentation: Prepare and provide all necessary travel documents, such as tickets and vouchers.

• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the booking process or a client's trip.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Galileo: Strong, hands-on experience with the Galileo GDS is essential.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate bookings and documentation.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly.

• Customer Service: A customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing a positive experience.

• Experience: Previous experience in the travel industry is a plus.

• Certification: A certification in Galileo or a related GDS is highly desirable.
