Senior Sales Engineer – Cold Storage & Refrigeration
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Market Mapping & Lead Generation
▸ Conduct systematic territory mapping across Jaipur and Rajasthan — identifying all high-potential prospects in food processing, cold chain, pharma, hospitality, retail, and warehousing sectors.
▸ Generate leads through cold calls, customer visits, industry events, dealer networks, and referrals from existing clients.
▸ Build and maintain a structured, live sales pipeline — ensuring consistent lead flow at every stage of the funnel.
▸ Research competitor activity, pricing trends, and upcoming projects in the market — report actionable intelligence to management.
▸ Develop and activate relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, and project developers who influence cold storage procurement decisions.
2. Technical Sales & System Design Support
▸ Consult with clients to fully understand their cold storage requirements — product type, temperature range, storage capacity, room dimensions, throughput, and operational cycles.
▸ Perform or coordinate preliminary system selection — cold room panel sizing, refrigeration unit selection, compressor capacity, evaporator and condenser matching.
▸ Prepare technically accurate and commercially optimized cost estimates, Bills of Quantity (BOQ), and detailed project proposals.
▸ Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations — clearly explaining system capabilities, energy efficiency benefits, and ROI to both technical and non-technical decision-makers.
▸ Provide expert guidance on: Walk-In Cold Rooms, Walk-In Freezers, Blast Chillers & Blast Freezers, Prefabricated Modular Cold Storage, Condensing Units & Split Refrigeration Systems, and Cold Chain Infrastructure.
3. Commercial Negotiations & Order Closure
▸ Lead all commercial negotiations — pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and AMC scope — within company-approved margins.
▸ Close high-value projects decisively, managing the client's decision timeline and resolving objections with technical and commercial confidence.
▸ Prepare and execute all contract documentation, purchase orders, and Letter of Intent (LOI) paperwork accurately and on schedule.
▸ Coordinate payment milestones — follow up on advance payments, progress billing, and final payment collection in line with contract terms.
▸ Manage revision cycles on proposals and BOQs without compromising margin or project scope.
4. Project Handover & After-Sales Coordination
▸ Conduct a structured project handover briefing with the installation and service engineering team — communicating all client requirements, site conditions, and commercial commitments.
▸ Remain the client's primary relationship owner throughout the installation phase — coordinating between the client and internal teams to ensure zero surprises.
▸ Conduct post-installation client satisfaction reviews — confirming system performance meets agreed specifications.
▸ Drive AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) conversations at project closure — converting every new installation into a long-term service revenue stream.
▸ Handle post-sales escalations with ownership and urgency — protecting client satisfaction and company reputation equally.
5. Reporting, CRM & Market Intelligence
▸ Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date records of all client interactions, site visits, proposals, and order status in the CRM system — updated same day.
▸ Submit weekly and monthly pipeline reports, sales forecasts, and market intelligence updates to the Director / CEO.
▸ Track won/lost order data and identify patterns — present insights with actionable recommendations to management.
▸ Coordinate with the finance team for accurate project costing validation before submission of final proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
▸ Education: Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or Electrical Engineering/ RAC. Additional certifications in cold chain management or refrigeration technology are an advantage.
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
▸ Technical Authority: Ability to conduct client-facing system design discussions with full credibility — not dependent on a technical team to answer customer questions.
▸ Consultative Selling: Skilled at uncovering a client's true cold storage requirements and designing a solution that fits their operational needs and budget — before quoting a price.
▸ Costing & Commercial Accuracy: Precise in BOQ preparation and cost estimation — zero tolerance for underquoting that erodes margin or overquoting that loses the order.
▸ Negotiation: Experienced and confident in multi-round commercial negotiations with purchase managers, business owners, and senior management.
▸ Project Management Awareness: Understands installation timelines, site readiness requirements, and commissioning milestones — can set realistic client expectations and hold internal teams accountable.
▸ Communication: Fluent in Hindi and English — written and verbal. Equally effective with a factory owner, a hotel GM, or a corporate procurement head.
▸ Self-Managed: Able to plan and execute a full weekly field schedule independently — disciplined, organized, and results-driven without requiring daily supervision.
▸ Payment Vigilance: Takes personal ownership of payment collection milestones — understands that a closed order is only truly closed when payment is received.
