Job Summary
The State Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and growing the pharmaceutical business across the assigned state by driving sales performance, achieving revenue targets, expanding market presence, and building high-performing sales teams. The role requires a strategic leader capable of developing business plans, motivating teams, strengthening relationships with healthcare professionals, distributors, stockists, hospitals, and trade partners, while ensuring compliance with company policies and pharmaceutical industry regulations.

Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Identify growth opportunities in existing and new markets.
Increase market share through effective territory planning.
Monitor product performance and implement corrective action plans.
Ensure profitability while maximizing sales volume.
Analyze sales trends and market data to formulate business strategies.
Team Leadership & People Management
Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing sales professionals.
Lead Area Managers, Regional Managers, Medical Representatives, and Sales Executives.
Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.
Conduct regular coaching sessions and field visits.
Set KPIs and performance expectations.
Motivate teams through recognition, performance management, and development.
Resolve team conflicts professionally and maintain positive employee engagement.
Create succession plans for future leadership roles.

Ensure consistent achievement of sales and business objectives.
Develop action plans for underperforming territories.
Monitor individual and regional performance.
Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews.

Distributor & Channel Management
Appoint and develop distributors.
Ensure healthy inventory management.
Monitor stock availability across territories.
Resolve supply chain issues promptly.
Ensure smooth order execution and timely collections.
Improve distributor profitability and engagement.
Business Planning
Prepare annual business plans.
Develop monthly execution strategies.
Forecast sales accurately.
Manage territory budgets efficiently.
Optimize resource allocation.
Ensure effective deployment of promotional inputs.
Customer Relationship Management
Build long-term relationships with doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, institutions, and distributors.
Conduct regular customer visits.
Ensure high customer satisfaction.
Handle customer complaints professionally.
Strengthen brand loyalty through relationship management.
Training & Development
Identify training needs of team members.
Conduct product training.
Improve selling skills.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or any equivalent discipline.

Experience
8–15+ years of sales experience.
