Brings New Customers (Main Job)

Finds exporters & importers
Visits factories, warehouses, offices
Understands customer cargo:
- Origin & destination
- Ocean / Air
- FCL / LCL
Converts enquiries into business

👉 No customers = no shipments

2️⃣ Sells Logistics Services

They sell services like:

Ocean freight (FCL / LCL)
Air freight
Customs clearance (CHA)
Door-to-door logistics
Warehousing & transportation

They don’t sell products, they sell movement solutions.

3️⃣ Coordinates with Pricing Team

Shares shipment details with pricing team
Gets competitive rates from shipping lines / airlines
Negotiates margins
Sends quotations to customers

👉 Sales + pricing = winning the shipment

4️⃣ Negotiates & Closes Deals

Negotiates freight rates
Explains transit time & service quality
Converts trial shipments into regular accounts

In logistics, relationships matter more than discounts.

5️⃣ Works with Operations Team

After closing:

Hands over shipment details
Coordinates during cargo movement
Supports customer if delays/issues happen

👉 Sales stays involved even after booking.
