Job Description

A lighting specialist sales executive's job involves generating and closing sales for lighting products by identifying leads, building client relationships, and providing expert advice on lighting solutions. Key duties include prospecting new clients, conducting product presentations and demonstrations, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and meeting sales targets. They must also stay updated on industry trends and work with internal teams like designers and engineers to secure project wins. 

Key responsibilities

  • Sales and lead generation:

    Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, prospect new clients through cold calls and networking, and manage incoming inquiries. 

  • Client relationship management:

    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, including architects, M&E consultants, and project teams. 

  • Product and solution expertise:

    Provide expert advice on lighting products and solutions, including their features, benefits, and technical aspects. 

  • Sales and proposal management:

    Prepare and present quotations and proposals, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals to meet or exceed targets. 

  • Project collaboration:

    Work with internal teams like lighting designers and engineers to ensure the company's products are specified in new projects. 

  • Market and product knowledge:

    Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies. 

  • Reporting:

    Prepare and submit sales reports, track activities in CRM, and maintain up-to-date sales databases and quotation logs. 

  • After-sales support:

    Provide post-sales support and address any customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
