JOB DESCRIPTION – SALES EXECUTIVE

Position: Sales Executive / Sales Manager
Department: Sales & Marketing
Location: Rudraksh Convention Centre, Varanasi
Reporting To: General Manager / Operations Head
1. Role Objective
To drive revenue generation for Rudraksh Convention Centre by acquiring new clients, maintaining corporate relationships, promoting event spaces, and ensuring maximum utilization of the auditorium, banquet halls, meeting rooms, and open areas.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Business Development
Identify and acquire new clients from corporates, government departments, PSUs, event planners, colleges, hotels, tourism agencies, etc.
Conduct sales visits, presentations, and venue walkthroughs for potential clients.
Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets for events, conferences, exhibitions, and cultural programs.
Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through daily follow-ups and lead management.
Build partnerships with wedding planners, MICE operators, travel agents, and local event organizers.
B. Client Relationship Management
Manage complete communication with clients from enquiry to event completion.
Understand client requirements and suggest suitable halls, layouts, technical setups, and packages.
Ensure timely sending of proposals, quotations, and follow-ups for confirmation.
Maintain long-term relationships with repeat clients and key accounts.
C. Coordination & Operations Support
Work closely with Operations, Housekeeping, Security, Catering, and Technical teams for flawless event execution.
Conduct pre-event meetings for finalizing setups, guest flow, AV requirements, seating, etc.
Ensure proper handover of event details to operations team and be present during major events for coordination.
D. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales MIS reports.
Maintain enquiry tracker, conversion tracker, client database, and rate sheets.
Ensure proper documentation of approvals from UPSTDC/authorities for government events.
Maintain updated knowledge of venue pricing, discount policies, and concession rules.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Local market knowledge of Varanasi hospitality/event industry.
Good negotiation and presentation abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to multitask and manage pressure during large events.
Professional grooming and customer-handling behaviour.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Hospitality, Marketing, Event Management or equivalent.
Experience: 2–6 years in sales roles in hotels, convention centres, banquets, or event venues.
Candidates with experience in UPSTDC, government event coordination, or Varanasi corporate sales preferred.
