Job Title: Sales Engineer – Material Handling & Conveyor Solutions
Job Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Lead Generation
Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in target industries (e.g., mining, ports, cement, steel, power, logistics).
Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, industry events, and digital channels.
Qualify prospects and convert them into potential sales opportunities.
2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Understand customer requirements and industry challenges through direct conversations and site visits.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision makers (plant managers, consultants, EPC contractors, project engineers).
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle.
3. Technical Sales Support
Present and explain the company’s conveyor and material handling product portfolio (idler frames, pulleys, chutes, frames, rollers, assembly parts).
Provide technical guidance and solutions based on client requirements and project specifications.
Collaborate with engineering to prepare solutions that meet customer technical requirements.
4. Proposal & Quotation Preparation
Prepare detailed commercial proposals, RFQs, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, production) to deliver accurate and competitive offers.
Ensure proposals address customer needs and align with technical / commercial terms.
5. Negotiation & Closing
Lead pricing negotiations and contract discussions with customers.
Ensure successful closure of sales while protecting company profitability.
Prepare sales agreements, work contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
6. Sales Forecasting & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline developments, and customer interactions in CRM.
Provide weekly/monthly sales forecasts, market feedback, and competitive insights to management.
Track order status and ensure timely follow-up until delivery and commissioning.
7. Market Intelligence
Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging customer needs.
Suggest improvements for products, services, and sales strategies based on field insights.
Participate in market surveys and contribute to product positioning.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and After-Sales teams to ensure smooth execution of orders.
Support pre-sales demonstrations, technical presentations, and product discussions.
9. After-Sales Support
Coordinate with Service Teams for installation support, commissioning, and customer training.
Follow up for feedback, trouble-shoot issues, and promote value-added services.
Skills & Qualifications (Optional Section)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Proven 2–5+ years of sales experience in material handling, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
Strong technical aptitude with excellent communication & negotiation skills.
Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Comfortable with field visits, client meetings, and travel as required.
