Job Title: Control Panel Technician
Job Summary:
A Control Panel Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, installing, and maintaining electrical control panels used in industrial automation systems. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical components, panel layout, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble electrical control panels as per engineering drawings and schematics
Perform wiring, cable routing, and termination of control panel components
Install components such as PLCs, relays, contactors, MCBs, VFDs, and power supplies
Read and interpret electrical drawings, GA layouts, and wiring diagrams
Conduct panel testing, continuity checks, and troubleshooting before dispatch
Ensure proper labeling, ferruling, and cable dressing inside panels
Assist in panel installation and commissioning at site if required
Diagnose faults and perform maintenance or repairs on existing panels
Follow safety standards and electrical compliance regulations
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in good condition
Required Skills:
Good knowledge of electrical control panel wiring
Understanding of PLC panels and automation systems
Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams
Hands-on experience with electrical tools and instruments
Knowledge of industrial components and panel accessories
Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Qualifications:
ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
1–3 years of experience in control panel manufacturing or maintenance
Preferred Skills:
Experience in PLC panel wiring (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
Knowledge of VFD and motor control systems
Familiarity with industrial safety standards
Site installation and commissioning experience
