Sales Engineer – Electrical Automation

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer / Automation Sales Executive with strong technical knowledge of electrical automation products and a proven track record in sales. The ideal candidate should be comfortable discussing technical solutions with customers and converting technical requirements into successful sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities and develop relationships with industrial customers.

• Promote and sell VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, control panels, automation products, and related electrical solutions.

• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable automation solutions.

• Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, technical discussions, and sales presentations.

• Prepare quotations, negotiate with customers, and follow up until order closure.

• Maintain regular communication with existing customers and develop repeat business.

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

• Maintain accurate records of leads, customer interactions, quotations, follow-ups, and closed sales.

• Coordinate with the technical and project teams to ensure smooth execution of orders.

• Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer requirements.

Required Technical Knowledge

The candidate should have a good working understanding of:

• VFD / Variable Frequency Drives

• PLC – Programmable Logic Controllers

• HMI – Human Machine Interface

• Industrial automation and control systems

• Motor control and electrical control panels

• Basic electrical components and industrial applications

• Ability to understand electrical drawings and customer application requirements

Required Sales Experience

• Previous experience in B2B industrial sales / electrical automation sales is required.

• Proven record of achieving sales targets and closing deals.

• Strong customer communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.

• Experience handling the complete sales cycle—from lead generation to order closure.

• Candidates should be able to provide a verifiable previous sales record, such as sales targets achieved, revenue generated, number of customers acquired, or major orders closed.

• Candidates should also be prepared to discuss their previous sales conversations/customer-handling experience during the interview, while respecting confidentiality and not disclosing sensitive customer information.

Candidate Profile

• Technical qualification such as Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field is preferred.

• 2+ years of relevant sales experience preferred.

• Strong technical understanding combined with good sales ability.

• Confident in speaking with engineers, maintenance teams, purchase departments, and management.

• Self-motivated, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.

• Willingness to travel for customer visits when required.

• It is a Full Time Sales / Business Development job for candidates with 1 - 2 years of experience.
