Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Pre‑Sales Support

  • Identify and qualify leads in the power generation sector; present DG solutions to industrial and commercial clients.

  • Develop technical proposals, sizing calculations (kW/ kVA), and budgetary cost estimates.

  • Deliver product demos and cost-benefit presentations tailored to client needs.

2. Commissioning & Testing of DG Sets

  • Plan and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and post‑commissioning activities.

  • Conduct tests: insulation, earth-leakage, fuel & battery systems, ATS (auto-transfer switch), protection relays, synchronizing equipment, load testing, smoke stacks, emissions compliance.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize DG performance, fuel burn efficiency, and alarm systems.

3. Protection & Control Systems

  • Configure and test protection relays, metering panels, synchronizing panels, and excitation systems.

  • Undertake functional/ loop testing of control & protection panels.

4. Documentation & Handover

  • Prepare commissioning plans, test protocols, punch lists, and final test dossiers.

  • Create red‑lined as‑built drawings and equipment manuals.

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact during all project phases.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (project managers, design engineers, logistics) and external contractors/vendors.

  • Deliver commissioning progress reports and perform post-sales follow-up to ensure system performance and client satisfaction.


🎓 Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Power Engineering.

  • Proven experience in commissioning and testing of DG sets, protection/control panels, and testing instrumentation.

  • Proficiency in primary test equipment—insulation testers, relay test kits (Omicron, Doble), multimeters, power analyzers hitachienergy.com+1talentpool.ae+1.

  • In-depth knowledge of DG set systems: engine, alternator, fuel system, ATS, synchronization, battery and charging systems atlascopcogroup.com+4pecplc.com+4reddit.com+4.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to write reports and deliver client training.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site for extended periods.

  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO, IEC, local fuel/emission norms.

  • Certification in commissioning, relay testing (e.g. Certified Commissioning Professional), or project management.

  • Good command of CRM tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
