Education Counsellor

Key Responsibilities

• Individual and Group Counseling:Provide support for students facing personal, social, and academic issues in a confidential setting. 

• Academic and Career Guidance:Help students set educational and career goals, choose courses, and prepare for post-secondary education and future jobs. 

• Collaboration and Communication:Work with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify student needs and develop strategies for support and intervention. 

• Program Development:Design and implement support programs focused on areas like mental health, bullying prevention, and academic success. 

• Referrals and Resources:Identify students who need additional services and provide referrals to appropriate external resources. 

• Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, progress, and plans. 

• Advocacy and Mentoring:Act as a mentor and advocate for students, helping them develop self-advocacy skills and navigate school systems. 

• Promoting Well-being:Support the overall emotional, social, and mental well-being of students through various initiatives and activities.
