Role Overview
The Business Head – Solar EPC will be responsible for driving end-to-end business operations focused on solar panel installation projects across government tenders and corporate clients (C&I segment). The role involves business development, tender participation, project execution oversight, and profitability management, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solar EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development – Government & Corporate
Identify and secure solar EPC projects from government bodies, PSUs, and private corporates
Lead participation in tenders (SECI, state nodal agencies, DISCOMs, etc.)
Develop strong relationships with government departments, EPC consultants, and corporate decision-makers
Expand business in rooftop, ground-mounted, and institutional solar projects
2. Tendering & Bidding Management
Oversee end-to-end tendering process:
Bid evaluation and qualification
Technical and commercial proposal preparation
Cost estimation and risk analysis
Ensure competitive bidding while maintaining profitability
Track upcoming government schemes and solar policies
3. Solar EPC Project Execution
Ensure successful execution of solar installation projects (rooftop & utility-scale)
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams
Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and safety compliance
Resolve execution challenges and ensure client satisfaction
4. Corporate (C&I) Solar Solutions
Drive solar installations for industrial and commercial clients
Offer CAPEX-based solar solutions tailored to client energy needs
Work with clients on ROI, savings, and sustainability goals
5. Vendor & Supply Chain Management
Manage relationships with module, inverter, and BOS suppliers
Ensure cost-effective procurement and timely material availability
Maintain quality standards across all installations
6. Financial & P&L Management
Own complete P&L for solar EPC business
Control project costs, improve margins, and ensure cash flow management
Evaluate project feasibility and profitability before bidding
7. Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with government regulations, DISCOM policies, and safety standards
Stay updated on solar policies, subsidies, and tender frameworks
8. Team Leadership
Lead cross-functional teams (sales, tendering, engineering, execution)
Build a strong execution-driven and result-oriented culture
Set targets and monitor team performance
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (MBA preferred)
15–18+ years of experience in solar EPC / infrastructure projects
Strong experience in government tenders and corporate solar projects (C&I)
Proven track record of handling large-scale solar installations
Strong understanding of project execution, costing, and contracts
Preferred Skills
Experience working with PWD, PHE, ZILLA PARISHAD, PANCHAYET, MUNICIPALITIES, NHAI, REDA, SECI, NTPC, state DISCOMs, or similar agencies
Strong techno-commercial and negotiation skills
Knowledge of rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems
Ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously
