Job Description: Business Development Executive (Lubricant & Petroleum Industry)

Position: Business Development Executive

Department: Sales & Business Growth

Industry: Lubricants / Engine Oil / Petroleum Products

Location: ___all over U.p


1. Job Objective

To generate new business opportunities, expand the distributor and dealer network, increase product sales, and strengthen the brand presence in the lubricant & petroleum market.


2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. New Business Development

  • Identify and onboard new distributors, dealers, workshops, fleet owners, transporters, and industrial clients.

  • Explore new markets and business opportunities in both urban and rural segments.

  • Develop strategic plans to grow product penetration.

B. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

  • Promote the company’s lubricant and petroleum product range to generate consistent business.

  • Execute sales schemes, product promotions, and marketing campaigns.

C. Channel Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, mechanics, fleet operators, and channel partners.

  • Monitor distributor stock, order flow, secondary sales, and payment collections.

  • Conduct periodic product training and sales presentations.

D. Market Research & Competitor Tracking

  • Track competitor activities, pricing structures, promotional offers, and new product launches.

  • Share market intelligence and insights with management to support strategy.

  • Identify gaps and opportunities to position the brand effectively.

E. Customer Engagement & Support

  • Attend customer queries related to products, pricing, and technical specifications.

  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure timely delivery and support.

  • Strengthen customer retention through continuous follow-ups.

F. Field Activity & Reporting

  • Conduct daily market visits (20–25 days/month).

  • Plan weekly schedules and submit daily/monthly sales reports.

  • Ensure visibility and branding through POS materials, dealer boards, and promotional items.


3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills

  • Excellent relationship-building ability

  • Market knowledge of lubricants, engine oils, greases, automotive fluids, etc.

  • Ability to work independently and achieve targets

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, WhatsApp reporting, emails)

  • Two-wheeler & driving license preferred


4. Education & Experience

  • Graduate / Diploma preferred

  • 1–5 years of experience in lubricant, petroleum, automotive, or FMCG sales

  • Freshers with strong motivation may also apply


5. Salary Structure (Typical)

  • Fixed Salary: As per company policy

  • Incentives based on monthly/quarterly targets

  • Travel Allowance
