Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Executive – Chemical Industry

Department: Sales & Marketing / Business Development

Reports To: Business Development Executive

Location: Mumbai Santa cruise

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research & Strategy

  • Identify potential customers, market segments, and emerging trends within the chemical sector (e.g., specialty chemicals, industrial chemicals, petrochemicals, etc.).

  • Analyze competitors’ activities and industry developments to inform strategic planning.

  • Develop and implement growth strategies aligned with company objectives.

2. Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new business leads through networking, cold calling, and participation in industry events or exhibitions.

  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals tailored to client requirements.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and distributors.

  • Provide after-sales support and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.

  • Collect customer feedback to guide product development and service improvement.

4. Technical & Product Knowledge

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s chemical products, applications, and advantages.

  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to customize products for specific client needs.

  • Provide technical guidance to clients on product usage, safety, and regulatory compliance.

5. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance updates for management.

  • Coordinate with internal departments (production, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth order execution.

  • Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate client and sales data.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field (MBA in Marketing or International Business is a plus).

  • Experience: 0–5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the chemical industry.

  • Skills:

    • Strong technical understanding of chemical products and applications.

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

    • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Other: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

  • Sales revenue growth and new account acquisition.

  • Customer retention rate.

  • Market share expansion in targeted segments.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of sales forecasting.
