Job Description

Job Designation: Project Engineer – Solar PV, Bangalores Reporting to: Head-Projects/AGM-Solar Projects Description The Project Engineer role is an on site role that involves actively managing ongoing solar power projects on site, ensuring timely execution and delivery/commissioning of commercial and industrial solar projects for the firm. Responsibilities On-Site Project Planning & Management • Familiarity or comfort with solar PV project components such as solar PV Modules, Inverters, Cables, Module Mounting Structures, Accessories • Understanding of the function and role of all components in a solar PV project. • Ability to plan and schedule solar PV projects with detailed execution plan and timeframes • Preparing detailed method statements for execution of solar PV projects • Coordinate delivery of items to site and manage unloading/storage responsibilities with on-site teams • Ability to study Autocad placement drawings and SLDs and map the drawings to on-site implementations • Coordinate execution of projects as per the detailed project plan and ability to drive on-site teams to stick to expected timeframes • Ability to manage attendance and daily arrival/departure (in-out) procedures of labour teams to site • Escalating delays and other site related challenges with daily/weekly reporting plans as per company policy Safety Management • Knowledge of HIRA and other safety methodologies involved in on-site project execution • Preparation of safety documents and submission/approval of such documents with client side safety managers • Undergo on-site safety training with execution teams and brief execution teams on the safety procedures involved during project executions • Ensure adherence and compliance to client side safety protocols during activities like unloading, shifting, installation, hot works (welding) and other sensitive works • Ensure availability of gloves, helmets, jackets, shoes and other mandatory items for on-site teams

Billing/Paperwork/Material Certifications • Create delivery challans as and when materials arrive at site and get DC/other inward documentation certified as inward materials • Share certified documentation with accounts/admin/sales teams in head office. • Coordinate with sales and accounts/admin teams to collate and submit required documentation at site for bills and processing • Work with client-side teams on certification of bills and ensure smooth processing of bills/tax invoices raised against materials/services delivered • Followup on payments against tax invoices submitted and keep management updated on processing status or delays if any. Position Requirements • A Diploma or BE (Electrical) graduate with degree from a reputed university or affiliate. • Minimum 3 years experience in site management of solar PV projects preferably upto 1 MW in size • Technically proficient with understanding of electrical networks and solar power project design/execution • Software skills : AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) mandatory • Quantitatively/Number oriented, good communication skills and calm under pressure. • Ability to communicate smoothly with labour teams as well as senior management • Preferred languages : Kannada, English, Hindi Working Hours • As per project timeframes and based on site conditions Location • Bangalore, but needs to be flexible to be deputed for short timeframes in projects in other geographies Compensation/Remuneration Compensation at par with comparable project/site engineer jobs with performance linked bonus/incentives driven by project completion and collections.
