The B2C Sales Auditor is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of business-to-consumer (B2C) sales transactions and processes. This role ensures adherence to company policies, pricing standards, promotional guidelines, and statutory requirements. The auditor will also evaluate internal controls to minimize risks related to revenue leakage, fraud, and non-compliance.
Sales Transaction Audit
Audit B2C sales transactions (online/offline) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Verify discounts, promotional codes, offers, and returns against approved guidelines.
Detect irregularities, fraudulent transactions, or revenue leakages.
Process & Compliance Audit
Assess compliance of sales operations with organizational policies and statutory regulations (GST, invoicing, etc.).
Ensure proper documentation of sales contracts, invoices, and customer records.
Review adherence to pricing policies and credit/debit note issuance.
Inventory & Reconciliation
Cross-check inventory movement against sales records to detect variances.
Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports with accounting records.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze sales data trends to identify anomalies or potential risks.
Prepare audit reports highlighting gaps, risks, and improvement areas.
Recommend corrective and preventive measures to management.
Internal Control & Risk Management
Evaluate existing sales processes and suggest internal control improvements.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to implement corrective measures.
Monitor compliance with anti-fraud and ethical sales practices.
Strong knowledge of B2C sales operations, retail processes, or e-commerce systems.
Sound understanding of auditing principles, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, POS systems, and audit tools.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple audits simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
CA/ICWA/CIA certification (preferred, not mandatory).
3–6 years of experience in internal audit, sales audit, or compliance auditing, preferably in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce industries.
Accuracy and timeliness of audit reports.
Identification and prevention of revenue leakages.
Compliance score with internal policies and statutory requirements.
Implementation rate of corrective actions recommended.
