Assistant Manager - Specification (Mumbai) Job Title: Assistant Manager – Specification (Mumbai) Division/Company/Entity: ASSA ABLOY Openings Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. Location: Mumbai Department: Sales Specifications Reports to: Director & Head of Specifications - SAARC Does this job have supervisory responsibilities? No Position Summary The position is responsible for leading and implementing pre-sales technical activities (detailed below) and tools to enable the Projects business. The position caters to the market/project needs, by interacting with influencers such as Architects, Consultants, other Intermediaries and Specifiers, through a structured education of codes, standards and product application prowess. The position also acts as a Subject Matter Expert for the Projects Business on matters relating to Architectural Hardware & innovative opening solutions, providing winning concepts, designs and Bill of Quantity (BOQ). Roles and Responsibilities: Specification Development: Develop and manage project specifications for construction, engineering, and design projects, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements. Select and recommend appropriate solutions including products, budgetary quotes, standards, etc. to the target audience Increase in the Specifications funnel made with complete range of products including mechanical, electromechanical, access control, automatics, glass, sliders etc. Ensure the submitted specifications are discussed and becomes part of the project tender for future sales generation. Closely work and coordinate with the Sales team to ensure conversion of specifications into actual sales. Key accounts: Manage and actively engage with key account of assigned architects and consultant, government departments in collaboration with channel and regional sales team. Maintain excellent working relationships with consultants to identify new projects and provide accurate, precise and timely information to consultants/architects. Conduct regular lunch & learn and training events with Architects and Design firms on designs and solutions to drive brand awareness. Provide timely support for specification on upcoming and existing projects. Promote the adoption and use of the ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio plugin for 3D door and hardware virtual libraries, specifications, and transfer of project information. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure that all specification documents and enquiries are maintained, updated, and archived appropriately in Openings Studio and Microsoft CRM. Provide regular updates to senior management about the team's progress, challenges, and successes. Gather market intelligence and competition update; provide requisite feedback to the management Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding product or project specifications. Present and explain specifications to clients or stakeholders as necessary. Skills Required: Strong customer focus Good analytical skills Strong drive to deliver high growth Good relationship building and communication skills Good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint Ability to make effective conversations with project owners/architects/Project Management Consultants Ability to learn industry-specific software such as AAOS etc. Functional understanding of project business in the building materials industry Education Qualification & Experience required: Engineering Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical stream or related discipline Familiarity with REVIT or CAD programs Relevant experience of 1 – 3 years with the similar industry Additional Information: Should be willing to Travel excessively in assigned territory Note: This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities.
