Job DescriptionPosition Overview:The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overseeing sales operations, managing the sales team, and achieving sales targets within a designated geographical area. The role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring smooth execution of sales strategies.Key Responsibilities:1. Sales Planning & StrategyDevelop and implement sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to drive sales growth.Identify new business opportunities within the assigned region.2. Team ManagementRecruit, train, and motivate the sales team (Sales Executives, Distributors, Dealers).Monitor team performance and provide regular coaching for improvement.Conduct team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.3. Market & Channel DevelopmentBuild and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.Ensure proper distribution network expansion and availability of products.Execute promotional activities, product launches, and marketing campaigns in the region.4. Sales OperationsTrack daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and ensure accuracy.Ensure proper inventory management, order processing, and timely supply.Resolve issues related to customers, pricing, delivery, and product quality.5. Compliance & ReportingEnsure adherence to company policies and guidelines.Prepare and submit sales reports, competitor analysis, and market feedback to senior management.Manage budgets, expenses, and ensure cost-efficient operations.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s in ane stream 3–7 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, retail, pharma, Real estate,or consumer goods.Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.Key Competencies:Team leadershipMarket knowledgeCustomer relationship managementProblem-solvingTarget orientationTime management
