Role Overview As an Academic Counsellor, your primary responsibility will be to proactively reach out to prospective students and parents, understand their learning goals, and guide them through the admissions journey to enrollment. You will engage with leads through telecalls, online demos, counselling sessions, emails, and chats, building highquality, trust-based discussions that help candidates make informed decisions about their education. Your role will also involve managing the enrollment funnel, from lead generation to conversion, and maintaining an engagement-based counselling approach by effectively utilizing CRM systems.
Key Responsibilities
● Conduct outbound calls to prospective students/parents and maintain regular follow-up with previously contacted leads to achieve enrollment targets.
● Engage with prospects through telecalls, online demos, counselling sessions, emails, and chats, providing them with clear and compelling guidance on course offerings.
● Develop impactful, trust-based conversations with prospective candidates, ensuring successful enrollment in the relevant academic/learning programs.
● Employ data-driven counselling and sales management techniques, effectively managing the entire admissions funnel and leveraging CRM tools.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all candidate interactions, leads, and conversions in the CRM/tracking system.
● Achieve and exceed individual and team enrollment targets on a monthly basis.
● Handle candidate queries and objections professionally, ensuring a positive experience at every stage of the counselling journey.
● Collaborate with the counselling team and reporting managers to refine pitch strategy and improve conversion rates. Requirements
● Possess 1–5 years of experience in academic counselling, EdTech sales, or a B2C telesales/inside sales environment, with a track record of meeting targets.
● Display a good understanding of CRM management and dialer operations.
● Exhibit excellent verbal communication, listening, and persuasion skills to engage effectively with students and parents.
● Demonstrate a high level of ownership, empathy, and patience while counselling prospective candidates.
● Open to candidates from all academic backgrounds; prior exposure to the education/EdTech sector is preferred.
● Display a strong focus on achieving results and perseverance in the face of challenges.
● Ability to join immediately is preferred.
