Store Keeper

A storekeeper in an elastic manufacturing company manages the inventory of raw materials (rubber thread, yarn, chemicals), semi-finished, and finished elastic products. They are responsible for ensuring uninterrupted production by maintaining accurate stock levels, safe storage, and efficient issuance of materials

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Inspection:

  • Verify incoming raw materials (e.g., latex, synthetic yarn, dyes) against purchase orders for quality, quantity, and specifications.

  • Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies.

  • Generate Material Received Reports (MRR) or Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).

• Inventory Storage and Management:

  • Store materials in designated areas (racks/bins) based on type, ensuring easy retrieval.

  • Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) methods to prevent degradation of raw materials.

  • Maintain strict safety protocols, especially for hazardous, chemical-based dyes or, raw rubber storage.

• Production Support (Issuance):

  • Issue raw materials to the production/stitching department based on authorized indents.

  • Ensure proper labeling, packing, and, in some cases, kitting of materials for production.

• Record Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and, daily records of stock levels using, manual logs or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Maintain bin cards for each item.

• Stock Control and Audits:

  • Conduct regular physical stock verification (daily, weekly, or, monthly) to reconcile with system balances.

  • Monitor reorder levels for inventory to prevent production downtime.

• Housekeeping and Safety:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized, store area, adhering to 5S methodology.

  • Ensure the safety of personnel and materials within the storage area.

• Finished Goods Handling:

  • Receive finished elastic, labels, and, packaging materials.

  • Manage packing, labeling, and, preparation of goods for, shipping or dispatch.

• Scrap and Waste Management:

  • Identify, separate, and dispose of, faulty materials or, production scrap

    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in, inventory management software/ERP.

    • Strong organizational skills and, attention to detail.

    • Physical stamina for lifting materials.

    • Knowledge of safety protocols for storing manufacturing, materials.
