Store Incharge

Job Summary:
The Store In Charge is responsible for managing and controlling inventory, ensuring timely availability of materials, tools, and equipment required for shipbuilding operations. The role involves accurate documentation, stock monitoring, coordination with procurement, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and store shipbuilding materials, tools, and consumables as per company procedures.

• Maintain accurate inventory records in the store management system.

• Issue materials to production teams based on approved requisitions.

• Ensure proper storage methods to prevent damage, corrosion, or contamination.

• Coordinate with the procurement team for timely replenishment of stock.

• Verify material quality and quantity against purchase orders and delivery challans.

• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.

• Handle return of unused or defective materials to suppliers or designated storage.

• Maintain safe and organized store premises in compliance with safety regulations.

• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

• Assist in tracking material usage to control wastage and cost.

• Coordinate with quality inspectors for incoming material inspection.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in stores or warehouse management, preferably in shipbuilding, heavy engineering, or manufacturing.

• Knowledge of marine-grade materials, welding consumables, hydraulic components, and fabrication items.

• Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

• Understanding of safety and quality standards in shipyard operations.
