STORE PERSON – Core Roles
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Receiving
Receive incoming materials from suppliers as per Purchase Order (PO).
Verify quantity, description, and specifications against delivery documents.
Check for visible damages during unloading.
Ensure proper unloading and safe handling of materials.
2. Inspection & Quality Coordination
Perform preliminary visual inspection of materials.
Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) for detailed inspection.
Verify material test certificates (MTC) and other quality documents.
Segregate accepted and rejected materials.
3. Documentation & ERP Entry
Prepare Goods Receipt Note (GRN).
Update ERP/system with inward details.
Maintain inward register and stock records.
Ensure proper material tagging (part number, batch number, heat number).
4. Storage & Material Handling
Store materials in designated locations as per storage norms.
Ensure proper stacking, identification, and traceability.
Maintain good housekeeping in store area.
5. Rejection & Non-Conformance Handling
Identify and isolate non-conforming materials.
Prepare rejection documentation.
Coordinate with Purchase department for supplier communication.
6. Inventory Support
Assist in periodic stock verification and audits.
Report discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
Monitor stock levels and inform management of shortages.
7. Safety & Compliance
Follow company safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
Ensure safe material handling practices.
Comply with ISO/company procedures and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Graduate (preferred in Mechanical or related field).
Experience: 1–3 years in stores or warehouse (Mechanical/Manufacturing industry preferred).
Required Skills
Basic knowledge of mechanical materials (MS, SS, Alloy Steel, Castings, etc.).
Understanding of Purchase Orders and delivery documents.
Basic knowledge of Tally / inventory software.
Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Tally).
