Store & Grooming Assistant

We are looking for someone warm, responsible and genuinely comfortable around animals to join us at Curious Cat Company, our store and cat grooming salon in Bengaluru.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys talking to people, keeping things organised and being around cats. You do not need to come with grooming experience. If you are interested, you will have the opportunity to learn cat grooming hands-on alongside our experienced grooming team.

What you will do

• Welcome customers and help them understand our products, their purpose and how they may be useful for their cats

• Assist with day-to-day grooming operations and help prepare and maintain the grooming space

• Learn grooming techniques hands-on, if this is an area you would like to develop in

• Manage stock, inventory and product movement within the store

• Maintain sales and expense records and assist with month-end accounts

• Ensure the store remains organised, well stocked and beautifully presented

• Coordinate appointments and speak with cat parents over phone or WhatsApp when required

• Take simple photographs and videos of products, cats and everyday moments at the store

• Support sales and marketing initiatives. Additional incentives will be offered for contributing to sales and business growth

• Help with the many small things that keep an independent store running well

Who we are looking for

More than anything, you should genuinely love animals.

You should be comfortable handling and being around cats, including cats who may be nervous, vocal or unsure in a new environment.

You should also be:

• Patient, calm and gentle with animals
• Friendly and confident speaking with customers
• Organised and particular about keeping records and inventory correctly
• Comfortable with basic accounts and numbers
• Willing to learn and take responsibility
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photographs, WhatsApp and basic digital tasks
• Interested in products with a story, purpose and point of view

Experience in retail, pet care, grooming, hospitality or customer service is useful, but not essential. Attitude, reliability and a genuine affinity for animals matter much more to us.

Curious Cat Company is a small, purpose-driven business, so this is not a narrowly defined desk job. You will learn a little about everything: animals, grooming, retail, products, customers, inventory, sales and what it takes to build a thoughtful independent brand.
