We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our pet store team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with pet products and a genuine passion for animals. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining store standards, and ensuring pets and pet-related products are handled with care and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting appropriate pet products, including food, toys, grooming items, and accessories

• Provide accurate information and advice on pet care and product usage

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of store shelves, displays, and stock areas

• Receive, unpack, and arrange pet product deliveries

• Monitor product quality, check expiration dates, and report low stock levels

• Handle cashier duties, including operating the POS system and processing payments

• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of pets in the store (if applicable)

• Follow store policies, health regulations, and safety standards

• Support promotional activities and in-store displays

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a pet store or with pet products (required)

• Basic knowledge of pet nutrition, grooming, and accessories

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to handle pets safely and confidently

• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift pet supplies as needed

• Reliable, honest, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills

• Experience with POS or retail systems

• Knowledge of different pet species and their specific care needs

• Sales experience in a retail environment

Working Conditions

• Retail environment with animals present

• May include weekends, holidays, and shift work
