Retail Sales & Store Experience Manager
Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Retail Sales & Store Experience Manager to manage the day-to-day sales operations of the store while driving in-store marketing, events, PR, visual merchandising, and overall customer experience.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of retail, excellent communication and people-management skills, and a keen eye for product presentation, styling, and store aesthetics. The role requires someone who can balance commercial targets with creating an engaging and premium experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Customer Management
Take overall responsibility for achieving the store's sales targets and driving daily sales performance.
Manage and motivate the sales team to deliver excellent customer service.
Personally handle key customers and assist the team in converting walk-ins into sales.
Build strong relationships with regular and high-value customers.
Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales and identify opportunities to improve performance.
Monitor customer feedback and ensure all customer queries and concerns are addressed promptly.
Ensure smooth billing, exchanges, returns, and other customer-facing processes.
2. Store Display & Visual Merchandising
Take complete responsibility for the display and presentation of products within the store.
Ensure products are attractively displayed, correctly categorized, and appropriately replenished.
Plan and execute product displays, window displays, tables, shelves, racks, and other visual merchandising areas.
Regularly refresh displays based on new collections, festivals, seasons, campaigns, and events.
Work closely with brands to ensure their products are presented in line with the store's overall aesthetic.
Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, organization, styling, and visual presentation.
Identify slow-moving products and create appropriate display strategies to improve visibility and sales.
3. In-Store Marketing & Promotions
Plan and execute in-store marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to increase footfall and sales.
Develop ideas for seasonal campaigns, festive activations, product launches, pop-ups, and customer engagement activities.
Coordinate with the social media/marketing team to promote store activities and events.
Ensure all promotional material, signage, displays, and communication are properly executed within the store.
Explore opportunities for collaborations with local businesses, communities, housing societies, and relevant partners.
4. Events & Activations
Take ownership of planning and executing in-store events and customer experiences.
Coordinate workshops, brand launches, trunk shows, pop-ups, festive events, community events, and other activations.
Manage event logistics including vendors, décor, displays, invitations, customer lists, and on-ground execution.
Develop creative concepts to increase customer engagement and store footfall.
Build relationships with event partners, brands, influencers, artists, and local communities.
Track event attendance, customer engagement, and sales generated through events.
5. PR & Brand Outreach
Assist in developing and executing the store's PR strategy.
Build relationships with local media, publications, influencers, stylists, bloggers, and relevant communities.
Identify opportunities for store features, collaborations, events, interviews, and editorial coverage.
Coordinate with external PR agencies or consultants, wherever applicable.
Support brand launches and other activities requiring PR and influencer outreach.
6. Brand Coordination
Act as a key point of contact between the store and its participating brands.
Coordinate with brands regarding new collections, product launches, displays, promotions, events, and stock requirements.
Ensure brand-specific promotions and campaigns are correctly communicated and executed in-store.
Identify opportunities to increase sales of individual brands through improved product placement and customer engagement.
7. Store Operations
Oversee the overall day-to-day functioning of the store.
Ensure staff grooming, punctuality, discipline, and adherence to store SOPs.
Monitor inventory presentation and coordinate with the operations team regarding stock requirements.
Ensure the store is fully prepared before opening and properly closed at the end of the day.
Maintain high standards of customer service, store upkeep, and operational efficiency.
Prepare and share regular reports on sales, customer feedback, events, promotions, and store performance.
Candidate Profile
2–5 years of experience in retail sales, store management, fashion/lifestyle retail, hospitality, events, or a related field.
Strong interest in fashion, lifestyle, design, retail, and customer experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sales and customer-handling abilities.
Creative mindset with a good eye for visual merchandising and product presentation.
Comfortable planning and executing events and activations.
Ability to build relationships with brands, customers, influencers, media, and external partners.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept to execution.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and basic reporting is preferred.
