Role Overview- FMCG Field Sales Manager
We are looking for an entrepreneurial Territory Sales Manager to establish and grow our retail presence in the assigned city. The candidate will be responsible for identifying distribution partners, onboarding retail outlets, and driving product availability across key premium and general trade channels.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable FMCG distributors and stockists within the territory.
• Develop a city expansion plan covering premium retail, convenience stores, supermarkets, and general trade outlets near IT parks, offices and Universities.
• Build relationships with store owners, purchasing managers, and retail chains.
• Ensure product placement, visibility, and availability across target outlets.
• Conduct market mapping and identify high-potential retail clusters.
• Track competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and distribution strategies.
• Generate new business opportunities and achieve monthly sales targets.
• Maintain distributor relationships and support secondary sales growth.
• Submit weekly reports on market coverage, distributor opportunities, and retail expansion.
Past Experience
Experience working with or selling into:
• Premium grocery stores
• Convenience stores
• Modern trade outlets
• Gourmet stores
• Airport retail
• Corporate canteens
• Educational institutions
• Fitness centres and health stores
Required Qualifications
• 2-5 years of FMCG sales experience.
• Existing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, or retail networks in the city.
• Experience launching or expanding FMCG brands is preferred.
• Strong understanding of general trade and modern trade distribution.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and develop a territory from scratch.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Has a strong network of FMCG distributors and stockists.
• Knows the leading premium retail stores and supermarket chains in the city.
• Has experience handling snacks, beverages, packaged foods, or consumer goods.
• Comfortable conducting market visits and retailer meetings.
Compensation
Fixed salary + attractive performance incentives linked to distributor onboarding, retail expansion, and sales targets.
