Job Description

Job Summary

The Laptop Sales Associate is responsible for providing expert guidance to customers, demonstrating product features, and closing sales to meet store targets. You will be the face of the brand, helping customers find the right computer for their specific needs, whether for gaming, office work, or education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly and ask targeted questions to understand their technical requirements and budget.

  • Product Demonstrations: Explain complex technical specs (like RAM, Processor, SSD, and Graphics) in easy-to-understand terms for non-technical buyers.

  • Sales & Upselling: Recommend suitable laptop models and encourage "add-on" purchases such as extended warranties, antivirus software, laptop bags, and peripherals.

  • Transaction Management: Process payments accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system and handle returns or exchanges according to store policy.

  • Store Maintenance: Ensure the display units are clean, fully charged, and updated with the latest price tags.

  • Inventory Tracking: Assist in restocking shelves and reporting low-stock items to management.

Required Skills

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of current laptop brands, operating systems (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS), and hardware trends.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal skills to build rapport and persuade customers.

  • Basic Math: Accuracy in calculating discounts, taxes, and handling cash or digital payments.

  • Patience & Empathy: Ability to handle difficult customers or those who are unsure about their purchase.

Qualifications

  • Education: Typically a HSC Passed.

  • Experience: Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.

  • Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift boxes for inventory management.
