Pharmacy Sales Representative
Position Overview:
A pharmacy salesman serves as the primary liaison between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers, promoting prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and medical devices to pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmacists, pharmacy managers, and healthcare providers in assigned territory
Present product information, benefits, and clinical data to potential clients
Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas for assigned pharmaceutical products
Identify new business opportunities and expand market share
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional agreements
Product Knowledge & Education
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products, including indications, contraindications, and competitive advantages
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and new product launches
Provide educational materials and training to pharmacy staff
Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions
Territory Management
Plan and execute strategic sales calls within assigned geographic territory
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and market intelligence
Analyze territory performance and develop action plans for improvement
Attend trade shows, conferences, and professional meetings
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, life sciences, business, or related field preferred
Previous sales experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to understand and explain complex medical/pharmaceutical information
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Pharmacy technician certification or pharmaceutical industry experience
Established relationships within local healthcare community
