Job Description

Position: Field Engineer – Microwave (MW) / BTS Installation

Key Responsibilities:

Install, commission, and integrate Microwave (MW) links and BTS/RAN equipment at telecom sites.

Perform installation of BTS equipment, RRU, BBU, antennas, feeders, waveguides, IDU, ODU, and associated accessories.

Align microwave antennas and ensure optimum signal levels.

Carry out site surveys before installation and prepare installation plans.

Perform equipment configuration, software loading, and basic commissioning activities.

Conduct ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure), call testing, and link testing as per customer requirements.

Troubleshoot and rectify faults related to MW and BTS equipment.

Coordinate with NOC, Project Managers, and customer teams during installation and integration.

Ensure all installation work complies with OEM standards and customer quality guidelines.

Maintain daily work reports, installation checklists, and site documentation.

Follow all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements, including PPE usage and working-at-height procedures.

Handle preventive and corrective maintenance of telecom equipment.

Support site acceptance, customer audits, and project handover activities.

Travel to different project locations as required for installation and maintenance work.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, or Samsung telecom equipment.

Knowledge of Microwave (MW), BTS, 2G/3G/4G/5G RAN installation and commissioning.

Ability to read installation drawings and network layouts.

Basic understanding of IP networking and fiber connectivity.

Good troubleshooting and communication skills.

Willingness to work in field locations and travel extensively.

Qualification

Diploma/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience in MW/BTS installation and telecom field operations (preferred).
