Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Installation: Installing, connecting, and testing new HVAC units according to manufacturer specifications and building codes.
Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance checks, cleaning, and inspections to improve efficiency and prevent breakdowns

Repair/Troubleshooting: Diagnosing issues in cooling systems and replacing faulty components like condensers, fans, and thermostats.
Refrigerant Handling: Identifying leaks and recharging systems, often requiring EPA 608 certification.
Customer Service: Explaining issues to clients, providing repair estimates, and advising on system usage.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited HVAC program or apprenticeship is typically required.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical wiring, and, in some cases, Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Certifications: EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or, in some cases, at heights.
Requirements: A valid driver's license and sometimes a two-wheeler is needed for service calls.
