Position: AC Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Deputy Manager – Maintenance
Qualification: ITI (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) / Diploma in Mechanical or HVAC
Experience: 3–5 Years
Job Summary
Responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of HVAC systems including Split AC, Ductable AC, Package AC, VRF/VRV, AHU, FCU, and Central Air Conditioning systems in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Responsibilities
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of Split AC, Ductable AC, Package AC, VRF/VRV, AHU, FCU, and Central AC systems.
Diagnose and repair faults related to compressors, fan motors, blowers, capacitors, contactors, overload relays, thermostats, sensors, expansion valves, solenoid valves, and electrical control circuits.
Perform refrigerant gas charging, recovery, vacuuming, nitrogen pressure testing, leak detection, and copper pipe brazing.
Measure refrigerant pressure, compressor current, voltage, insulation resistance, superheat, and subcooling using standard HVAC instruments.
Maintain AHUs, FCUs, chilled water systems, pumps, cooling towers, dampers, filters, ducts, and ventilation systems.
Read and troubleshoot electrical wiring diagrams, HVAC control circuits, and panel wiring.
Install and commission new HVAC systems, including indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant piping, drain piping, electrical wiring, and testing.
Perform routine cleaning of condenser coils, evaporator coils, air filters, drain lines, and blower assemblies.
Ensure proper operation of thermostats, pressure switches, temperature sensors, actuators, and basic PLC/BMS interfaces.
Maintain preventive maintenance records, service reports, gas charging logs, and breakdown analysis reports.
Follow LOTO procedures, electrical safety standards, refrigerant handling practices, and 5S requirements.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems
Refrigerant handling (R22, R410A, R32, R134a, etc.)
Compressor troubleshooting and replacement
Electrical fault finding and panel maintenance
Copper pipe brazing and leak testing
Chilled water and air distribution systems
Preventive and predictive maintenance
Reading HVAC drawings and electrical schematics
