Job Description

An AC mechanic, is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The role requires hands-on expertise, technical training, and strict compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

·        Install, maintain, and repair various types of air conditioning systems including split ACs, window units and refrigeration equipment.

·        Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in AC units.

·        Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient system performance and energy conservation.

·        Replace and repair damaged or worn-out components such as compressors, motors, and controls.

·        Interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturer specifications for installation and repairs.

·        Test systems for refrigerant leaks and electrical faults and calibrate as necessary.

·        Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and repairs.

Requirements

·        High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/trade certificate in air conditioning, refrigeration, or HVAC technology preferred.

·        Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience working with air conditioning.

·        Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and manual repair skills.

·        Ability to read technical diagrams, use hand and power tools, and work in confined spaces.

·        Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment and work long hours, sometimes independently.
