Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled AC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems in a hospital environment. The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted operation of air conditioning and ventilation systems, including critical areas such as Operation Theatres (OT), ICUs, Laboratories, Wards, and other patient care areas, while adhering to hospital safety and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, operate, maintain, and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems.
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of split ACs, cassette ACs, ductable units, package units, AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF systems, and ventilation systems.
Monitor and maintain temperature, humidity, and air quality in critical hospital areas.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC equipment.
Check refrigerant gas levels, compressors, motors, thermostats, filters, and electrical panels.
Carry out routine servicing, cleaning, and replacement of filters, coils, belts, and other components.
Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and equipment history.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols, infection control practices, and statutory regulations.
Coordinate with biomedical, electrical, and engineering teams during maintenance activities.
Ensure proper functioning of exhaust, fresh air, and ventilation systems.
Follow all safety procedures while handling refrigerants, electrical systems, and maintenance tools.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration principles.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Familiarity with AHU, FCU, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and ventilation systems.
Basic knowledge of electrical control panels and wiring diagrams.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ITI/Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC), HVAC, or Electrical.
2–5 years of experience in hospital, healthcare, or commercial facility maintenance.
Experience working with critical HVAC systems in healthcare environments is an added advantage.
