ASSISTANT MANAGER – HUMAN RESOURCES

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hatchlab Innovations Pvt. Ltd. – A Unit of Techno India Group is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused Assistant Manager – Human Resources to manage day-to-day HR operations and support the development of a positive, high-performance work culture.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing key aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, statutory compliance, performance management, payroll coordination, and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of HR processes, excellent communication skills, good employee-handling abilities, and the capability to manage multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to candidate closure.

  • Source candidates through job portals, social media, referrals, recruitment agencies, and other channels.

  • Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate assessments.

  • Coordinate interviews with department heads and management.

  • Understand manpower requirements from different departments.

  • Prepare and update Job Descriptions according to business requirements.

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates.

  • Conduct salary discussions and coordinate the offer process.

  • Manage pre-joining formalities and candidate follow-ups.

  • Coordinate the complete employee onboarding process.

  • Ensure joining documentation and induction formalities are completed properly.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a key point of contact for employee HR-related queries.

  • Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns professionally.

  • Support conflict resolution between employees and departments.

  • Maintain positive employee-management relationships.

  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities.

  • Conduct employee feedback initiatives when required.

  • Conduct exit interviews.

  • Maintain and analyze employee attrition data.

  • Assist management in developing employee retention initiatives.

3. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records in physical and digital formats.

  • Manage employee documentation and HR databases.

  • Maintain attendance and leave records.

  • Coordinate with payroll teams regarding attendance, leave, deductions, incentives, and other payroll inputs.

  • Support statutory compliance related to PF, ESI, Gratuity, and applicable labour laws.

  • Maintain required HR registers and compliance documentation.

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are properly implemented.

  • Handle disciplinary matters and employee investigations when required.

  • Ensure proper documentation and due process during disciplinary actions.

4. Performance Management

  • Coordinate the employee performance appraisal cycle.

  • Assist in setting KRAs/KPIs for employees.

  • Coordinate mid-year and annual performance reviews.

  • Maintain performance appraisal records.

  • Work with managers to identify performance gaps.

  • Identify employee training and development requirements.

  • Coordinate with the Learning & Development team for training programs.

  • Track training effectiveness and employee development initiatives.

5. Compensation & Benefits

  • Assist in preparing monthly payroll inputs.

  • Coordinate attendance, leave, deductions, bonuses, incentives, and other payroll-related information.

  • Support salary benchmarking and market research.

  • Assist in maintaining competitive salary structures.

  • Coordinate employee insurance and benefit programs.

  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers.

  • Maintain proper records related to employee benefits.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

HR & Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HR operations and HR Generalist functions.

  • Good understanding of recruitment and talent acquisition.

  • Knowledge of HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Zoho People, or similar systems.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, filters, sorting, and basic HR reporting.

  • Understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory HR compliance.

  • Knowledge of payroll coordination and employee documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or a related field – Preferred

  • 4–7 years of relevant HR experience

  • Experience in HR Generalist, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, or a similar HR role.

  • Candidates with experience in a structured corporate environment will be preferred.

SALARY & COMPENSATION

Maximum CTC: Up to ₹6 LPA

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and interview performance.
